To shed light on the subject of sustainability and introduce
variety, Stock Market Learning has a different special
topic each year. The topics are in line with the goals
of the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development
which
was proclaimed by the United Nations for 2005 to 2014.
Is it refuse or is it food?
Although a balanced, healthy diet is essential to human
life, many people in the world cannot afford a basic supply
of fresh water and food. At the same time, huge quantities
of fresh food are simply thrown away in the major industrial
countries.
Some food products travel thousands of kilometres before
they get to our table. Can we call that sustainability?
No. But how can sustainability be achieved, and what is
Fair Trade? These are questions that you can discuss in
your classroom or seminar. You'll find lots of information
this year in Stock Market Learning.
Starting in September, the participating savings banks
will provide a wide range of information related to this
year's special topic on their Stock Market Learning websites.
