Stock Market Learning is an exciting online competition
run by the savings banks in Europe. It gives pupils and
students an opportunity to invest virtual capital on the
stock market. Trading is based on share prices on real
stock exchanges.
Simulated trading in securities is a way to develop a
basic awareness of economic issues and to gain a better
understanding of the stock market. Stock Market Learning
was launched in Germany back in 1983. Today teams from
seven European countries compete.
How does it work?
School pupils participate in teams, and university students
can participate as individuals. To take part, you must
find a participating savings bank that will provide support.

Starting in September you can also click here
to find a participating savings bank.
Starting in mid-September, each participating savings
bank will have a Stock Market Learning page where you
can open an account.
Once you have opened an account, you have ten weeks to
increase its value by buying and selling securities. What
is important is not only the total value of your account,
but also your earnings from sustainable investments.
